Some more baby news.

The NICU is closed for an hour for shift changes
so I figured I would send along another update.

She is looking better and better every time we get
to see her.

Her spinal tap came back negative (woo hoo!!!) so now we are
just waiting for the rest of the blood work to rule out
a few other minor things.

I finally got to try and feed her.
We both did pretty well for being first timers.

Her oxygen levels are almost where they need to be
so hopefully very soon she can loose one of the many
cords tying her down.

The doctor was busy with another little one last
time we were down there so we don't know if plans have
changed yet for her long stay.

We will be sure and let you know when we do! :)

Bridget update

Just went down to see little Bridget in the NICU.
We finally got to hold her.

And I think she was pretty happy about it.

After having normal blood work yesterday,
today there was a little concern.

Looks like she has an infection she is working
on kicking.  Luckily they started antibiotics yesterday -
just in case. 

They are down there torturing my little girl right now.
They are doing a spinal tap to make sure she doesn't have
meningitis.

For now she has to be on IV antibiotics for 10 whole days.

That means we will be leaving the hospital all by
ourselves.

Sucks. Hard. Core.

I know she will be alright.  I am not worried.

I am just selfish and want my baby.

The Stats

Here is a little more info on our baby girl.

Born May 7th at 4:27 am
Weighs 6 lbs 10 oz
19 inches long
And super cute!

I am sure you are all wondering what her name is...

Bridget Dawn Merkley

Baby Girl

She is finally here!!

After 9 months of pregnancy,
25 hours of labor,
and 27 minutes of pushing,
we ended up with 1 dang cute little girl.

She decided to inhale some fluid so she
has been in the NICU since they cut
her free from me.

She is slowly doing better but still not breathing
as well as the doctor would like.

We will keep ya updated on her progress and
get some more pictures soon!

Party at our house!

Logan's brother, Galen, had a birthday last
month.

We, of course took advantage of this excuse to get
together to chow down and party.

Kari decided to try out a cake she saw a picture of.

Here was the end result:

Not really sure how close she got it to the picture...

Galen sure seemed to think it looked ok though.

So did the swarm of children.

It was delicious!!  And gone very quickly!

Happy birthday Galen!!

This is what happens when I take a nap...

... and leave my camera out for my silly little sister
to get to.

She told me the story that goes along with the pictures
but I was too busy shaking my head at her to really
listen..

I will get back to you with that one.

Goon's room!!

Our little goon is getting closer and closer to
needing a room to sleep in.

We started with a boring guest room and decided
to see if we could make it a little more fun.

First we picked out some super cute colors.

Splashed on some green.

Logan of course looked super hot while doing it.

Next we added a dash of pink.
 

Touched up a few spots.

Tried to watch out for the big belly that seems to always get in the way.

Obviously I didn't do so well..

 Next step was to tape, tape, tape.

Paint a little, then tape more.

 

Next, one of my favorite parts - taking off the tape!

Add some cute switch plates.

Pick out some cute molding.

Then do some messy staining. 

Nicely ask Logan's work buddy to help get
it all up.

We still have a few more decorations and 
cute things to put up but I just couldn't wait any longer
to show everyone! :)

Now we just need to fill that crib with a little goon!!
